Having a second mother in the house can make all of the difference.
About Marti Yates, Postpartum Doula
As the mother of six and grandmother of eleven, I love babies but my focus now is on the moms; I want to make their lives easier and less stressful. Seeing my own daughters navigate balancing their professional and family lives made me realize all moms need another mom to help them cover the gaps.
From the time of baby's birth through the first year, I support you, the mother. I first help you to learn to know and care for the baby, fostering attachment, in the easiest and least complicated way. I care for you as a mother cares for a daughter, indulging and pampering. As the first year progresses, I am available for backup when you need help in meeting your professional obligations while caring for your little one. Despite all the research and preparations that parents do, babies invariably have their own agendas and I can help you adapt to your baby’s changing and sometimes baffling needs. Having a second Mom in the house can make all the difference. It really takes a tribe to parent!
I am:

“I believe in empowering the new mom, helping her get to know her baby’s personality and how to satisfy the baby’s needs with confidence in her own maternal skills. Moms are heroes and do not get enough help or credit. As a postpartum doula, I am here to support you in becoming more confident in your role and to provide backup as you navigate the first year of your baby's life.”
– Marti Yates, Postpartum Doula, Founder of Postpartum Care Concierge
Why I love being a postpartum doula and caregiver:
From personal experience, I have seen the pressure that women put on themselves to be the perfect mother. Sometimes it seems to me that the fun of being a new mom has been wiped away by the stress of being the perfect mom. That’s why I love being a postpartum doula. Having had many years of personal and professional experience taking care of new mothers, I believe moms need to be my focus. I help by keeping things simple, supporting your confidence and relieving your anxieties. I care for you, mother you and, because knowledge builds confidence, I help you learn how to care for your baby. Teaching the partner the techniques of childcare is also important. My knowledge gained from years of experience and training relieves new parents of your fears. Most importantly, I believe in empowering the new mom, helping you get to know your baby’s personality and how to satisfy the baby’s needs with confidence in yourown maternal skills.
